Dancing Shoe-Socks

Maeve's favorite socks-that-look-like-shoes. They instantly dress up any onesie. Great to take an outfit from day to evening. They make Mike and me think of the SNL skit
"Gilly at the Science Fair."

We wonder if we'll have our own version starring a mischievious Maeve someday.

She usually looks sweet:

But sometimes we can't tell what she's thinking of doing:

And sometimes we can't tell what she's already done:

The Beach, The Tigers, Good Eats, Good Friends, all on the way home...

Ahhh..... V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N!

After a successful week in Charlotte, and because Maeve was proving herself such a good traveler, we decided to venture to the Outer Banks for a few days of pure vacation. It was fabulous - warm, sandy, and relaxing. And, thanks to Maeve, we saw some things we normally wouldn't see on vacation (like the sunrise).

We had our share of fresh fish - every meal except breakfasts we ordered from Diamond Shoals, a seafood market where they grill their local catches to our requests, and then hand them over to us, so we could go back to our balcony and eat in front of the ocean. We got to know the employees there pretty well.

On our way back, we cruised through DC, and stopped for a cheeseburger at Five Guys, as endorsed by Pres. Obama. It's endorsed by us now, too. Yum city!

Last stop before home was Maeve's first Tiger game at Comerica Park in Detroit. Danny got us great tickets, but Maeve didn't seem too interested yet... she slept through the whole thing.

The Dads!

By the end of the trip, Maeve was smiling regularly, so we think it worked for her.

It sure is good to be home!
